The typical chemistry of 309LMo filler includes about 23-25% chromium (Cr), 12-14% nickel (Ni), and 2-3% molybdenum (Mo), with very low carbon content (≤ 0.03%) to reduce carbide precipitation and maintain corrosion resistance. You might also find small amounts of manganese (Mn) and silicon (Si) depending on the specifications. The weld deposits usually achieve tensile strengths between 550-620 MPa, with yield strengths around 350-400 MPa (this can vary based on the rod/wire and process), and elongation often reaches 30-35% or more, ensuring good ductility and toughness. Plus, the weld metal shows excellent impact resistance and keeps its corrosion resistance in environments rich in chlorides or chemicals, thanks to the molybdenum.
